TJ's Notes on Reusing CRNS

There is really no way to re-use the CRN because you can never assign a CRN that is lower than the ''CRN starting seq' stored on the SOATERM form, sobterm table.

Even the roll process whether you roll CRNS, or have the processa assign CRNs would never find those numbers that are lower than the soaterm.

sorry I do not have a better answer.

Not really, I have never heard anyone change the subject and course on an existing CRN...

There are so many tables that would also need the change...

I am not sure we would advise this...

But if you are still interested... you would have to look at every table that gets created when ssrroll runs...and on your own if there were issues...
SSBSECT, SSRMEET, SSRATTR, SIRASGN, SSRLINK, SSRCORQ, SSBDFEE, SHRGCOM, SHRSCOM, SSRTEXT, SSRRCLS, SSRRCOL, SSRRMAJ, SSRRLVL, SSRRESV, SSRXLST, SSBXLST, SSRRCMP, SSRSCCD, SSBOVRR, SSRRTST, SSREVAL, SSRBLCK, SSRRARE, SSRRDEG, SSRRPRG, SSRSPRT, SSRSRDF, SSRMPRT, SSRMRDF, SSRRSTS, SSRRFND, SSREXTN, SOBODTE, SSRSYLN, SSRSYLO, SSRSYRM, SSRSYTR, SSBDESC, SSBSSEC, SSBFSEC, SSRFEES

As I mentioned, there is not really anything you can do..

Are you part of SICAS? Maybe you can talk to them about the re-using of numbers to see what they say... meaning the changing of the data on existing crn and all effected tables.

A course could have all those tables filled with data, but probably would not. I just wanted to give you all possible tables.

We discussed that earlier, the only way i can think of is to take a CRN in that range that is not used any longer, and change the SUBJ CRSE and other values in SSBSECT and ALL the other tables I gave you that could have records connected the the section.

I have never done this or tested it. You would be on your own to try this in test....
